I believe this is a cop-out to the US EPA. Vehicles are required to perform at EPA-mandated polution performance levels for the "life" of the vehicle. For cars, this is generally 50,000 miles or 5 years. Frank has clearly demonstrated that the Savage is good for much more than 18K miles!
